Higher Apprenticeship in Care Leadership and Management

The qualification only applies to jobs in adult social care, and has two pathways; a general pathway and a specialist pathway

You’ll gain sector recognised qualifications and develop specialist skills whilst working alongside experienced peers in the workplace. The Higher Apprenticeship in Care Leadership and Management (England) is a mix of skills development and knowledge and combines work based learning with the potential for further work related study at university.

On the General Pathway you will gain: the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services – a combined competence and knowledge qualification

On the Specialist Pathway you will gain: a level 5 university diploma. The university diploma incorporates the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services and further university modules on areas related to your job role

The number of mandatory units undertaken is defined by the pathway, between 9- 12. Learners will then have a choice of optional units to enable achievement of 90 credits. To complete the apprenticeship learners do an additional 10 credits.
