Emergency First Aid at Work

This course covers the following topics:

  • Managing Incidents
  • Basic life support
  • Examination of a Casualty
  • Unconsciousness
  • Control of bleeding
  • Burns and scalds
  • Regulations
  • First aid kits
  • Recording and reporting
  • Unresponsive and not breathing including the use of an automated external defibrillator(AED)

Certification is dependant upon successful continuous assessment of the learner. There is no final exam.

Those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a Certificate that is valid for three years

This course assists with meeting Care Certificate standard 12.

This Emergency First Aid at Work course satisfies the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). All successful candidates will have the skills and knowledge to provide emergency first aid to casualities in a prompt, safe and effective manner.
Candidates successfully completing this course will be entitled to act as a First aider in the workplace.

This course complies with the Health & Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.
